Shopping centre Westfield London has announced that pop singer Taylor Swift will switch on its Christmas lights next week and perform live on stage.

Appearing on stage in The Atrium, the 22-year-old will join with Young Leaders from Westfield‘s Christmas charity partner, Save the Children, to countdown to the switch on before performing three of her singles including her latest hit ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together‘.

An estimated 10,000 fans are expected to attend the event on Tuesday November 6th 2012, which will feature snow, lasers and other pyrotechnics.

Swift, who was recently named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine, follows in the footsteps of fellow stars Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Justin Beiber, who have all previously switched on lights at the centre since its opening in 2008.

Earlier this week, the New West End Company announced that singer Robbie Williams will be turning on Oxford Street‘s iconic Christmas lights, an event which will be hosted by department store House of Fraser.

Commenting on Swift‘s attendance at the Westfield event, Westfield‘s General Manager for Marketing UK, Myf Ryan, said: “The Christmas lights switch-on is one of the highlights of the festive calendar and we are incredibly excited that Taylor Swift is launching Christmas for us at Westfield London.

“Not only is Taylor such a globally recognised artist, she is also of enormous appeal to our shoppers. We look forward to putting on a memorable show for our visitors.”
