Retail veteran Sir Stuart Rose has been appointed Chairman of etailer Duvet & Pillow Warehouse.

Rose, who was credited for selling the most duvets and bedding in the UK during his time at Marks & Spencer, will help to see the business through a rebrand and aims to grow sales from £12m to £50m over the next four years.

He is also chairman of Ocado, Fat Face, Blue Inc and Oasis Healthcare and holds advisory roles to HSBC and private equity firm Bridgepoint.

“I was impressed by the brands focus on developing products using the highest quality materials, their outstanding customer service and competitive pricing, as a result of cutting out waste and compressing the supply chain”, said Rose.

In the new role, Rose will support CEO Charlie Hunt, the board and management and will oversee new product range development and will work closely with the buying and development team.

Founder and CEO, Charlie Hunt said the appointment of Rose provided a big vote of confidence for the etailer.

“We‘re thrilled to have access to Stuart‘s considerable expertise. Stuart will work closely with me to develop tighter processes and develop our brand strategy.”

The business, who is aiming to become the online leader for med and baths, will change its name to Soak & Sleep early next year.
