Tesco will open its first F&F clothing stores in the US as it continues with its ambitious plans to become a leading global brand for affordable fashion.

The stores will feature full women‘s, men‘s and children‘s ranges with the first store opening near Boston in May.

Seven shops, near Boston, and in New York, Philadelphia and Newport, will open on the east coast of America this year in partnership with its franchise partner, Retail Group of America.

“We‘ve had a really positive response from customers in all of our overseas markets so we‘re hoping our American stores prove to be just as popular, “ said Jason Tarry, CEO of F&F.

Tesco sold its Fresh & Easy grocery chain to Ron Burkle‘s Yucaipa investment company last year as it struggled to keep its market share in the UK.

The news comes as F&F continues its foray into new and emerging markets such as Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan.

Grant Blackbeard, Commercial Director, Caucasus Region, Al Hokair commented: “As demand for fashion brands continues to grow in the Armenian market, our customers are continually on the look-out for international, high quality brands at affordable prices.”
