Home and DIY retailer Homebase has launched a new video centred website to help customers find the information they need to make informed purchases.

The site offers “improved functionality” and “easy to navigate” pages and has over 50 videos to help customers, from laying turf to putting up wallpaper.

“We know that nearly 40 per cent of our customers start looking for ideas online before visiting us in store. That‘s why we have developed a new website to start to provide more support, help and inspiration around the key home and garden projects,” explained Homebase Director of Multi Channel, Siobhan Fitzpatrick.

Homebase sells a number of brands including Habitat, Qualcast and Farrow & Ball and said it would be easier to search products on a brand by brand basis, compare items and save a ‘love list‘ of favourite products.

It said it had simplified the checkout process to make it easier for customers to arrange home delivery and Reserve & Collect in store in one transaction. It added it would roll out new apps, more video content as well as better visibility of pricing and stock.

Argos, also owned by Home Retail Group, will open concessions in 20 Homebase stores across the UK, which are designed to act as locations where customers can pick up online orders.
