The global IT director for Jimmy Choo has reportedly been appointed as the new chief information officer of fashion retailer Ted Baker.

According to the Retail Week, Neil Plaistowe will be part of Ted Baker‘s executive board and will report to chief executive Ray Kelvin.

Plaistowe, who spent four years with Jimmy Choo, has an extensive background in retail IT, having started his career at Burberry before moving to IT roles at Paperchase, Joseph and Value Retail.

While Dustan Steer has been Ted Baker‘s IT director since 1996, the chief information officer position is reportedly a newly-created role.

Ted Baker confirmed that Plaistowe has joined the company but has not yet confirmed his role.

The British luxury fashion retailer reported an 18.6 per cent surge in profits in its full-year results in March.
