Footwear retailer Reebok has announced that the appointment of a new creative director, Thomas Steinbrück.

Steinbrück will now look after both footwear and apparel collections, after moving from his role as chief creative marketing officer at the Adidas-owned German accessories brand Liebeskind Berlin, which he held since 2015 

Previously he held a role as creative director of Porsche Design after starting his career at Christian Dior. He has also worked alongside Geoffrey Beene, and Kenneth Cole and is attributed to helping shape the career of Alexander Wang.

In the early 2000s, he was assistant professor for fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York.

“Reebok is an amazing brand; it offers both forward-thinking fitness products alongside iconic footwear silhouettes that have marked the last few decades.” Steinbrück told WWD.

“The convergence of the fashion and athletic performance worlds is exciting for an individual like myself, a sports and fitness devotee from a fashion background. I am confident that my experience will bring something truly unique to Reebok.”
