Evans Cycles has welcomed new chief executive Andy King, formerly boss of Dobbies Garden Centres.

King has replaced Nick Wilkinson who left the retailer after it was sold to private equity owners ECI partners for £80 million.

Prior to this King spent three years as chief executive at the garden retailer Dobbies where he will remain as an advisor to the new chief executive John Cleland.

King stepped down when the company was sold by Tesco for £217 million.
