The £775 million regeneration of Paddington Quarter has been recommended for approval, in a move that could see the area‘s retail sector entirely rejuvenated.
On Tuesday a decision will be made by Westminster Council in London whether the transformative development will be approved.
Led by the same team that brought the Shard to London Bridge, the new complex is proposing 80,000 sq ft of new retail space and will create over 4000 new jobs.

It has been estimated that the Paddington Quarter‘s retail development, which centres around the historic Royal Mail sorting office and includes £65 million directed to renovating the Grade I listed neighbouring station, will pump £350 million into the economy each year.
Although plans were made to build a “skinny shard” towering 72 storeys above the historic London location, opposition was fierce.
A newly proposed cube building will take its place, made entirely of glass and steel housing 3500 staff.
