Robin Terrell will return to Wilko as a non-executive director having left Tesco in August.

Terrell left a job as chief customer officer at Tesco earlier this year, having left the role he will now return to three years prior to joining the grocer.

He has maintained an advisory role at Wilko since leaving, and has also held a role as non-executive director at Karen Millen since February. Previously Terrell has held roles at big name retailers such as John Lewis, House of Fraser and Amazon.

Anthony Houghton also joined Wilko as its new retail director on August 12 this year, leaving a job at Argos as retail stores director.

Wilko reported a 15 per cent rise in profits in its last full year report and opened eight shops in the year to January 30, including a 3000 sq ft shop – a stark contrast to its usual 18,000 sq ft format – on London‘s High Street Kensington. It now operates 389 stores.
