Swedish car brand Volvo have posted a retail sales boost of 8.4 per cent in the first 10 months of 2016.

Total sales for the year to date are 424,772 cars, already pushing well ahead of 2015‘s 391,948 car and setting the stage for another record year of sales.

Western European sales rose by 6.2 per cent during the period, making the UK a strong contributor to its sales success. 

However, this was dwarfed by sales in the US, which rose by 20.5 per cent selling 64,874 cars.

China also performed well with a double digit growth of 12.5 per cent. Success in this region and the US are attributed to pushing the car retailer’s promising growth.

The most popular models were the Volvo XC60 selling 126,495 cars in the 10 months to October, followed by the Volvo V40 Cross Country selling 80,687.
