Blinds and flooring retailer Hillarys has been sold to Dutch multinational company Hunter Douglas in a £300 million deal.
The previous owner, Ares Capital Corporation, sold the Nottingham-based company after appointing PwC to manage the sale.
Hillarys employs around 1300 staff in the UK and its new owner has confirmed it would continue to trade as a standalone company and that no changes would be made to its senior management team.
Hunter Douglas specialises in blinds and window covers and oversees 130 manufacturing and assembly companies in Rotterdam, while employing nearly 20,000 staff members across 100 countries. It is reportedly worth around £2 billion.
“The team has achieved a market-leading position in the UK and continues to deliver a truly differentiated customer experience,” Hillarys chief executive John Risman said.
“We look forward to working with Hunter Douglas to accelerate our growth strategy and leverage their expertise.”
