China’s Urban Revivo chain to debut in the UK at Westfield London

Chinese fast fashion retailer Urban Revivo is poised to open its first store outside Asia in the UK, with a new store slated to open at Westfield London in March next year.

According to Drapers, the 22,000sq ft unit will be on the upper level of the shopping centre’s extension when it opens in 2018.

Property agent CBRE, which is acting for Urban Revivo, and confirmed the letting.

Urban Revivo is also reportedly expanding into the US, France, Japan and the Middle East in the coming years – with ambitions to open between 60 and 100 global stores per year in order to reach a target of 400 stores by 2020.

The retailer was founded in 2006 and currently operates 160 shops in China, and opened its first international shop in Singapore earlier this year.

“Our first global flagship store represents a new chapter for Urban Revivo and we are thrilled to make these first steps in London,” chief executive and founder Leo Li told Drapers.

Westfield’s director of leasing Keith Mabbett added: “Westfield is delighted that Urban Revivo chose Westfield London to open a 22,000 sq. ft. flagship store, its first store outside of Asia, in the £600m expansion. Construction work progresses well and the expansion will open in March 2018.”
