Net-a-Porter hires new buying director

Online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter has hired Nayla Touma to be its new buying director.

Previously the division merchandise manager for footwear at Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Touma will be responsible for Net-a-Porter’s buying strategy for shoes, handbags and accessories.

She will report to global buying director Elizabeth von der Goltz and will join the team in February before relocating to Net-a-Porter’s London headquarters in April.

Touma had been with Bergdorf Goodman for five years, starting off as buyer for advanced contemporary and designer shoes.

Prior to that, she held buying roles at Bloomingdales New York.

Net-a-Porter has also promoted senior buyer Billie Faricy-Hyett to the new role of buying manager for handbags, accessories and beauty.

Fellow senior buyer Thalia Tserevegou has also been promoted to new role of buying manager for shoes.
