Hotter has hired Ian Watson to take on the role of chief executive and replace Sara Prowse who is stepping down from the role after three years.

Watson, who has been chief executive of children’s footwear brand Start Rite since 2016, will join Hotter in March.

“Hotter is a great business and the brand has huge potential domestically and internationally,” Prowse said.

“I am leaving in the knowledge that the business is set up well to compete in what is going to be a continued challenging retail market.”

The footwear retailer, based in Lancashire, operates 80 stores across UK and the EU.

Founded in 1959, Hotter currently employs over 1200 staff.

Prior to Start Rite, Watson served as the European managing director of Britax, according to the Business Desk.
