Asos had the best response after a man randomly shamed a woman for wearing one if its dresses on Tinder.
Last weekend, Thea Lauryn Chippendale shared an exchange on Twitter with a Tinder match who insulted her style, with the caption “men are trash”.
The tweet included a screenshot of the exchange with the complete stranger who body-shamed her by saying dress choice was “not doing any favours”.
The screenshot was accompanied a photo of her wearing the outfit in question.

Twitter users quickly jumped to Chippendale’s defence, and her tweet attracted more than 101,000 likes and more than 8000 retweets.
With the tweet now viral, Asos – the fashion retailer that made and sells the dress Chippendale’s picture – did the unexpected.
It stepped in to help the 20-year-old out by featuring her as her a model for that dress on their website, along with photos of one of their own models:
Chippendale’s last laugh also came in the form of this genius tweet from Asos:

Many Twitter users responded with positive comments and others said they would like to see more non-professional photos on Asos’ website.
“I was really shocked and upset when I first the read the message on Tinder,” Chippendale told Press Association.
“I completely understand that people have different opinions on what they perceive as pretty or nice – but I just don’t understand why he went out of his way to be cruel and hurtful.”
She added: “As for how Asos have responded, I am absolutely gobsmacked and I think I will be for the rest of my life.
“I am so grateful that they’ve somehow managed to turn such a negative situation into such a positive one.”
