// Asda introduces a Christmas savings card to encourage shoppers to save money
// Customers will need to pick up a card in store and register online
// They can then pay money into the account over 4 months which will see a bonus reward in November
Asda has launched a new Christmas savings card ahead of the festive season to encourage customers to save money and collect bonuses.
In order to sign up, customers need to pick up a card in store and register it online in order to protect their money.
They will receive a card and a key fob that are linked to one another to keep their savings, and can then pay money into the account over four months which will see a bonus reward in November.
For every £30 customers save, they receive an extra £1 which will increase to £3 for every £80 saved, £6 for £130 saved, £9 for £180 saved, £12 for £230 saved and £15 for over £280 saved.
Asda aims for customers to spend their savings on Christmas shopping in its stores during the month of December.
The Big 4 grocer said customers can save up to £485 on their Christmas savings card.
They only need to save £280 on a card to result in a £15 bonus being rewarded, the equivalent of more than a five per cent bonus on top of their savings.
