Luke 1977 store expansion underway

// Luke 1997’s goal is to have 20 physical retail stores by the end of 2020
// The menswear retailer will open stores in Cheshire & Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre next month
// It will also open a 1700sq ft West Midlands Designer Centre store next September

Luke 1977 is set to open four new stores by the end of 2020, in efforts to hit its target of having 20 physical retail stores in the UK by its 20th anniversary the following year.

Drapers reported that in November, the menswear retailer will open a 1800sq ft off-price store in Cheshire, alongside a 2000sq ft full-price store in Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre.

In early April, it will open its first full sport-concept store in the Bicester retail park, which will promote performance products with visual installations.

Drapers also reported that initially the store will stock Luke Sport exclusively but in the future there is the possibility of guest collaborations to take up to 15 per cent of the 1500sq ft space.

Luke 1997 will then open a 1700sq ft West Midlands Designer Centre store in September next year.

The openings will take the retailer’s total store count 17 – closer its “20 by 20” store target for 2021.
