1. Sports Direct hits out at CMA over “incorrect” JD Sports-Footasylum data

Sports Direct has said the CMA published “incorrect estimates” of its market share data in the investigation into JD Sports’ £90 million acquisition of Footasylum.

In a statement published on the London Stock Exchange this morning, Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley said he disagreed with the CMA’s estimates.

2. Next third quarter sales drop while online sales advance 9.7%

Next has posted a decline in full price sales in its third quarter, while online sales saw an uptick.

The fashion retailer posted a 6.3 per cent decline in retail sales for the third quarter up to October 30.

Next said it now estimates its full year 2020 profit before tax to remain at £725m

Digital sales saw a 9.7 per cent rise during the period.

3. £111,000 taken from hundreds of customers in Currys PC World Ebay hack

Currys PC World customers have been defrauded out of £111,000 after the retailer’s Ebay site fell victim to a major hacking scam.

Ebay listings from the technology retailer, which is part of the Dixons Carphone group, were targeted by hackers who changed the PayPal details to siphon money to themselves, according to the Daily Mail.

4. Harrods to launch standalone beauty store at intu Lakeside

Harrods has revealed plans to launch a standalone beauty fascia, with the first store to open at Intu Lakeside shopping centre in Essex.

The fascia, known as H Beauty, will take up a 23,000sq ft unit for its debut store at Lakeside.

Harrods has also earmarked a second store somewhere in Milton Keyes, with the exact location to be revealed at a later date.

5. Zalando commits to carbon neutrality as it launched “do.MORE” sustainability campaign

Zalando has today committed to becoming “carbon neutral” across all its operations as part of a major new sustainability campaign.

Its do.MORE campaign pledges to meet the Paris Climate Agreement’s goals in its own operations ahead of schedule by reducing emissions, eliminating single-use plastics and growing its sustainable fashion range.
