House of Fraser has been voted as British consumers’ least favourite department store, according to new research.
Online retailer OnBuy found that out of the 11 main department stores in the UK, House of Fraser scored 1.3 out of 5, with 86 per cent of reviews classifying it as “bad”.
Fenwick was voted as Brits’ favourite department store, with just 30 per cent of its reviews negative. It achieved 3.5 out of 5 from UK shoppers.

Meanwhile, Selfridges came in second place as the worst department store.
The high-end retailer fell flat on its high-end expectations with a 1.7 trust score, while 80 per cent of its reviews deemed negative.
In third worst position was Flannels, which showed a 1.7 trust score and 76 per cent “bad” reviews.
The Sports Direct-owned retailer recently opened a new store on London’s Oxford Street.
Meanwhile Fortnum and Mason came in second-best, clocking in at 2.8 out of 5.
In third place was TK Maxx, scoring 2.5 out of 5 from UK shoppers.
Moreover, John Lewis, which recently saw its Excitable Edgar Christmas advert reach nine million views, came in fourth place with a score of 1.7 out of 5.
Earlier this year, KPMG and Ipsos Retail Think Tank issued a warning about the future of department stores and its place on the high street, saying the need for department stores may reduce significantly.
