// 24% of Brits said they would look for deals to save money in 2020

Tesco has slashed prices on hundreds of products as part of its ongoing centenary celebrations, marking “100 Years of Great Value”.

Members of Tesco’s Clubcard loyalty scheme will be able to benefit from dozens of further price reductions as part of the Big 4 grocer’s Clubcard Prices initiative.

The move follows Tesco’s research into customer shopping behaviour, which found that 24 per cent of Brits said they would look for deals to save money in 2020, while 40 per cent said they would set firmer budgets.

Big 4 rival Sainsbury’s will post its figures on Wednesday, with Tesco’s update coming a day later.

Some of Tesco’s price cuts include 20 per cent off Tesco Finest sandwiches and 10 per cent off the retailer’s own-label Go Cook pans and roasting trays.

Meanwhile, the offers are expected to stretch across brands including PG Tips, Birds Eye, Cathedral City, Colgate and Persil.
