Beales administrators have confirmed that they are preparing to close a number of stores across the UK.
Will Wright and Steve Absolom of KPMG were appointed as joint administrators following Beales’ collapse in January.
The administrators are now set to close 12 stores after attempts to sell all 23 of the retailer’s outlets proved unsuccessful.

Advisers from the firm started exploring potential sale or refinancing options in December 2019.
The stores will remain open for about eight weeks to sell the remaining stock, with staff expected to remain in their jobs in the short term.
There is currently no intention to implement closure plans for the remaining 11 stores.
The stores to be closed are located in Bournemouth, Hexham, Worthing, Tonbridge, Peterborough, Mansfield, Keighley, Perth, Spalding, Wisbech, Bedford and Yeovil.
Beales currently employs more than 1000 staff.
The administration of the department store chain affected 32 staff members working in the head office.
The staff affected are predominantly in back-office support roles in Beales headquarters in Bournemouth, which employs 76.
