Retail Gazette Loves: Go Outdoors rebrands to Go Indoors

Go Outdoors has temporarily rebranded itself as Go Indoors as part of a campaign to help keep people safe during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

In a video posted to their Twitter channel, Go Outdoors thanked shoppers for staying home and protecting the NHS.

“We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone, as we temporarily adapt to a completely new way of living,” chief executive Lee Bagnall said in a statement.

“However, our message to our customers is simple and mirrors that of the government – stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives.”

During the lockdown, the retailer said it would create videos, guides and blogs about servicing and looking after kit, ready for when everyone can go back outdoors.

It will also offer tips on entertaining kids, product videos on some favourite outdoor kit, campsite cookery that you can do in the kitchen and/or garden as well as any other ideas they can think of.

To keep the spirit of adventure alive, the retailer has also asked its customers to use the hashtag #GOindoors to share videos and photos of how they are self isolating ,whether its arts and crafts or camping in the back garden.

Those who share the best videos and photos shared will win prizes.

“We want to inspire the UK to have fun and adventure, in a safe manner, no matter what your ability is, it’s the ethos that our staff and customers have shared for many years,” Bagnall said.

“From camping indoors to star spotting from your bedroom window.”
