Reiss has announced a set of initiatives to support the NHS amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

In response to the critical shortage of protective personal equipment (PPE) for the NHS, Reiss has utilised its supply chain, stores and partners to help support the production and distribution of PPE.

The first of the initiatives announced includes donating 10,000 masks across the Guys & St Thomas’s NHS foundation Trust and Barts Health NHS Trust.

Reiss is working directly with factories to purchase the masks, while also supporting its supply chain during such uncertain times.

Secondly, the fashion retailer is working in collaboration with Emma Willis, founder of the Style for Soldiers charity, of which Reiss has been a retail partner of since November 2019.

After working closely with Willis and witnessing the work she does for injured veterans, Reiss is supporting her latest initiative, Style for Surgeons, with a fabric donation to produce over 900 scrubs.

The scrubs will be sewn in Willis’ factory in Gloucestershire and delivered to a network of hospitals across the UK.

“Reiss, our great supporter of Style for Soldiers, immediately offered help in their characteristically generous and pro-active way, with a donation of over 2000 metres of pure cotton for our next 900 scrubs,” Willis said.

“We are all so very glad to be able to support our emergency NHS staff risking their lives for us all throughout this crisis”.

The retailer will also be lighting up windows in a selection of Reiss stores across the UK with a special message of thanks to NHS for the work they are doing on the front line.
