Eve Sleep non-executive director Nikki Crumpton is due to step down and the retailer is seeking to find a replacement before the end of the month.

Crumpton joined the mattress retailer in September 2018 and has been supporting it through a rebuild strategy.

She was also senior independent director and sat on its audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Meanwhile, Eve Sleep’s former chief executive, James Sturrock, who left the business in May to join Tapi Carpets but remains non-executive director, will sit on all three committees.

“On behalf of the entire board I would like to thank Nikki for her support and guidance throughout the last two years and to wish her well for the future,” Eve Sleep chief executive Cheryl Calverley said.

“She’s been a huge support, both personally and from a strategic and commercial point of view, and as recent results demonstrate Eve is now on a stronger footing and is developing its plans for long term sustainable growth as a profitable business.”

Last week, Eve Sleep teamed up with health and beauty Boots to launch a range of Christmas gifting products in an effort to continue its sales momentum.

The partnership comes as Eve Sleep seeks to build on the “strong improvement” in trading since April.

The online mattress retailer will launch its Well Slept range with Boots in October.
