Lovehoney CEO resigns after 12 months

// Lovehoney CEO Sarah Warby resigns after 12 months in the role, citing “family reasons”
// Chief commercial officer Debbie Bond is running the business since Warby’s exit

Lovehoney has confirmed that chief executive Sarah Warby has stepped down from her post after just 12 months in the role.

A spokesman for the online sex toys retailer said Warby exited the business this month “for family reasons”.

“Sarah Warby left Lovehoney in September 2020 for family reasons, having joined Lovehoney in September 2019,” the spokesman said.

He added: “We thank her for all of her hard work and wish her well for the future.”

The spokesman said Lovehoney chief commercial officer Debbie Bond was “running things from London HQ” since Warby’s resignation.

Before joining a year ago as chief executive, Warby was marketing director at Sainsbury’s between 2012 and 2017.

She is also a a non-executive director for Moneysupermarket Group.

The news comes a day after Lovehoney acquired a majority stake in Swiss online sex toy retailer Amorana.

In May, Lovehoney said the pandemic has seen it enjoy a “very strong” financial performance.
