Retail Gazette Loves: The Rolling Stones’ first flagship store

The rock ‘n’ roll legends that are The Rolling Stones have opened the doors to their world-first flagship store, RS No. 9 Carnaby, in London’s Soho.

The new store, created in partnership Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company Bravado, features hallmarks of the band as well as its new fashion label.

The band’s album and single releases are key elements of the store, with music on offer to buy including the Goats Head Soup album and Scarlet single along with an exclusive 500 copies of Goats Head Soup in the Rolling Stones’ red colour.

The store’s windows also feature a world-first soundwave installation taken from the opening to the band’s 1966  track Paint It Black.

Inside, there is an exclusive and curated mix of collections and collaborations for fans of all ages.

Five 90″ portrait screens display a film made exclusively for the store, showing footage across the band’s history.

Exclusive store collaborations include Chateau Baccarat, from French luxury brand Baccarat, featuring a collection of crystal wine glasses, champagne flutes, tumblers, wine decanter, and a beer glass engraved with the tongue and lips of the Rolling Stones.

The store also features a bespoke t-shirt customisation station, allowing shoppers to choose from a range of designs on the touch screen menu.

“Soho has always encapsulated rock ’n’ roll so Carnaby Street was the perfect spot for our own store,” The Rolling Stones said in a statement.

“We are confident this exciting project that our friends at Bravado have created will be an unrivalled experience for everyone to come to London and enjoy.”
