Morrisons brings back cafe takeaway service for second lockdown

Morrisons is reopening its national hot-food-to-go takeaway service in all 404 of its in-store cafés nationwide, in time for the second lockdown in England.

A wide range of takeaway meals will be on offer as part of the return of the service – including a new festive range.

The Big 4 grocer said orders can be placed in person or over the phone, with all meals ready for collection in about half an hour after the order is placed. Orders can also be made via Deliveroo in select areas.

Festive additions to the menu include a Christmas Dinner and Christmas Pudding for £5.50, and a Festive Afternoon Tea for Two for £12.

Morrisons Café staples such as the fish and chips and bacon or sausage sandwich plus hot drinks also available from the takeaway service.

Morrisons said all items on the menu are prepared by hand and packaged in cardboard takeaway boxes.

“We wanted to keep our cafe food available for busy families to pick up and take away,” Morrisons head of cafes Ali Lyons said.

“We’ve also launched a new festive menu – to spread some cheer and allow people to celebrate in the run up to Christmas.”
