Non-essential retailers in England and Wales will reopen today after months of closure, as the nations enter the second phase of easing lockdown.

Zoos, theme parks and drive-in cinemas will also reopen, as will public libraries and community centres.

On May 17, pubs, restaurants and hotels will reopen indoors in line with the “rule of six” policy.

The limit of six people at a time will no longer apply to outdoor meetings, although meetings of 30 people or more will remain illegal.

Step four – on June 21 – will see all legal limits on social contact removed, including weddings and nightclubs.
