Selfridges, Harrods and Fenwick have announced their reopening plans as non-essential retailers in England and Wales prepare to reopen on Monday.

Selfridges unveiled its new windows ahead of reopening, which represent a large-scale visual interpretation of the store’s 2021 creative theme, Good Nature, across 20 windows.

The luxury department store said customers would be able to enjoy “new and unique experiences dreamed up” while its doors have been closed due to lockdown.

These include a partnership with SoulCycle to open its first Outside Studio in the UK on Edwards Mews, behind the Oxford Street store.

Selfridges will also launch an exclusive Experience Concierge – a new gifting service offering specially curated experience packages.

Harrods said it would launch new, headlining brand boutiques and pop-ups in addition to exclusive collections and launches.

“With the governments’ pathway to reopening in full swing, there is a real air of optimism across London,” Harrods managing director Michael Ward said.

“We are so delighted to be welcoming customers back in-store for some well-deserved magic.

“As we head towards the summer, Harrods customers can expect al-fresco dining experiences, exceptional retail theatre throughout the store and unrivalled new collections and pop-ups from the world’s most sought-after brands.

“There is much to look forward to over the coming months, from postponed celebrations to reuniting with loved ones, and Harrods provides an unbeatable atmosphere to create memories and enjoy special moments.”

Meanwhile, Fenwick will launch new clothing brands as well as a new lifestyle zone.

New clothing concessions include Soletrader, menswear brand Boy London, and sustainable brands Ninety Percent and Colorful Standard.

At its Bond Street store in central London, Fenwick is launching The Studio – a wellness and lifestyle area on the lower-ground floor that will include a concession for bicycle and cyclingwear retailer Velorution and running specialist brand On.

“We’ll be reopening with lots of new brands and experiences across our stores, including al fresco dining options, and a new wellness space and vegan restaurant at Bond Street,” Fenwick chief executive John Edgar said.

“We are also going to be supporting local independent businesses to reach new customers through our pop-up market experience showcasing local artisans and producers.

“The last few months have been a challenging time for retailers across the country, but we are hopeful that this will be the start of a new chapter for our local high streets, as families, friends and communities come back together to dine, shop and socialise safely.”
