Primark enters 14th market with new Czech Republic store

Primark has opened the doors of its first ever Czech Republic store, making the value retailer’s entry into its 14th market and its 396th store overall.

Based on Prague’s Wenceslas Square, the store spans 49,800sq ft across three floors, and has created over 300 jobs.

The new Prague store also marks another significant milestone in Primark’s Central Eastern Europe expansion, joining Ljubljana in Slovenia and Primark’s two stores in Poland, in Warsaw and the newly opened Poznan.

Primark has also signed a lease to open its first store in Slovakia, and announced additional Polish stores in Krakow and Katowice, as well as a second store in the Czech Republic in Brno which will open next year.

The new Prague store offers a range of fashion, homeware, kidswear and beauty, in Primark’s latest contemporary shop fit and design – with 35 cash desks, 56 fitting rooms and free Wi-Fi.

“We are so excited to finally bring Primark to the Czech Republic and what better place to do this than in the heart of Prague,” Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said.

“This is another important market for us as we continue our expansion into Central and Eastern Europe and build our pipeline of new stores across the region.

“We can’t wait to introduce shoppers in the Czech Republic to our amazing fashion at amazing prices in our incredible new store.”
