Asics continues to report strong growth & profitability

// Asics EMEA reports consolidated net revenue increase of 44%
// Operating income increased “significantly” to €70.5m for the year-to-date
// Asics also enjoyed continuing ecommerce growth, with an increase of 45% year-to-date

Asics has reported a consolidated net revenue increase of 44 per cent year-on-year across all distribution channels for the year-to-date period ending June.

The sportswear brand and retailer’s trading update for its EMEA market also said operating income increased “significantly” to €70.5 million for the year-to-date.

Asics reported 52 per cent year-on-year growth in wholesale channels across EMEA for the year-to-date, with the UK wholesale revenue alone seeing an increase of 50 per cent.

The sportswear giant added that it enjoyed continuing ecommerce growth, with an increase of 45 per cent year-on-year for the year-to-date period.

“Covid-19 continues to present challenges around the world,” Asics EMEA chief executive  Carsten Unbehaun said.

“Although we are seeing very positive results in our region, we are managing our business carefully to ensure we can deliver and provide the best experience in the future.

“We are currently seeing unprecedented demand for Asics products across the region. Our business has grown significantly compared to last year, fuelled by product innovation and the fact that more people are choosing Asics.

“We are seeing profitable growth from all parts of the business and all channels, demonstrating that we have positive momentum in the region.”
