Morrisons launches Back to School Packs to support struggling families this summer

Morrisons is giving its shoppers the chance to help families who may be struggling to afford the cost of going back to school with the launch of its Pick Up Packs filled with stationery in stores.

The pre-packed bags can be bought by customers and donated in time for the new school year which starts next month.

Each pack contains essential items students will need when they return to school such as pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers and maths sets.

Shoppers can pick them up on their way into a Morrisons store, pay for them at the till and then leave them in a dedicated donation station.

The back to school Pick Up Packs is one of the latest schemes introduced by the supermarket chain to support those in need across the UK.

It follows the success of Pick Up Packs for food which has seen over £1 million donated to local food banks this year alone.

“Going back to school can be both a nervous and exciting time for families,” Morrisons customer & community director Rebecca Singleton said.

“We hope these packs go some way to helping local children and their families who may struggle with the costs of going back to school – and take one thing off the to do list.”
