B&Q opens its fifth concession store in Asda superstore

// B&Q opens its fifth Asda concession store, following successful launches in Edmonton, Roehampton, Sheffield and Dagenham

B&Q has opened its latest ‘shop within shop’ compact B&Q store in Asda Thurmaston, Leicestershire.

The new store, which is the first of four more B&Q concession stores within Asda stores is 2,360 sq. ft and will provide customers easy access to a broad range of products and the opportunity to complete many different shopping activities in a single trip.

The concession in Asda Thurmaston will offer a range of paint, including paint mixing, as well as tools, hardware and other DIY essentials.

Customers will also be able to shop B&Q’s full range at diy.com and order a broader range of products online for collection from the store

B&Q regional manager Pete Ibbotson said: “We’re delighted to be opening the new B&Q concession store within Asda Thurmaston and to be providing customers with a more convenient way to shop for home improvement products and services.”

“Our customers are continuing to adapt and change to new ways of living and shopping and this is just one way in which we’re responding by getting closer to customers and making it easier for them to do their home improvement projects.

“The B&Q concession within Asda Thurmaston will have a great selection of DIY essential items, expert help and advice from our colleagues, as well as digital access to our broader range of products.”

Asda Thurmaston store manager Dave Bowns said: “We’re always keen to give our customers greater choice and enhance their in-store experience, which is why I’m pleased Thurmaston has been selected as the latest location to receive a compact B&Q store.

“Customers will be able to access to a range of B&Q’s essential home improvement products and expert advice alongside their regular shop, as part of a wider investment that will bring a broader range of great value products and services to our store.”
