Sainsbury’s has opened a Local format store in London’s Marble Arch as it offers more convenience for its customers.

The opening marks a return for the store since the closure of its previous Marble Arch Local in 2016.

Sainsbury’s said it can now showcase its latest product range, convenience format and “brilliant customer service” to shoppers in Marble Arch.

The new 2889sq ft store is situated opposite Hyde Park and Marble Arch Underground station, which Sainsbury’s said is “perfectly placed to help and serve local workers, shoppers, residents and visitors”.

The local store will offer Sainsbury’s usual range of fresh food, fruit and veg and frozen food, as well as a selection of branded and own brand grocery products.

Bread and pastries will be baked every day in the store and customers can choose to pick up a coffee from a self-service Costa coffee machine, or a freshly squeezed orange juice from the in-store juicer.

An Argos click-and-collect point will also give customers the chance to order from thousands of Argos products online and pick them up in store at their convenience.

“I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to bring a new Sainsbury’s Local to Marble Arch,” Sainsbury’s property director, Patrick Dunne said.

“Whether for busy Londoners, residents or tourists, this store offers great convenience and quality food.

“The store looks fantastic and I am so pleased to see the team out in force to welcome everyone through the doors for its first day of trading.”
