Walmart will begin introducing UK exporters to its flagship Walmart Marketplace, an online marketplace where third-party sellers serve over 120 million US shoppers each month.

Sellers who join the marketplace will have access to tools and services to help them scale up in the States, including the opportunity to get their goods to US customers within two days.

The initiative comes as Walmart works on its engagement with UK retailers after the UK government increased efforts to promote UK goods beyond the EU with its ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World’ campaign.

US and UK trade representatives met earlier this year to tighten trade ties and boost the two nations’ £200 billion relationship.

Walmart International senior vice president of Marketplace Development, Darren Carithers said the company has offered British exporters the “full support of the Walmart team”.

“We are confident that UK sellers will be able to leverage Britain’s reputation for design and manufacturing excellence and product quality to thrive as Marketplace sellers and bring more choice to our US customers with speed and scale,” he said.

Meanwhile, Walmart Fulfillment Services allows UK sellers to use Walmart’s US supply chain infrastructure and expertise to offer two-day delivery to most of the US Sellers may also access marketplace platform tools that help them speed up processes, identify growth opportunities and manage promotions and feedback.
