Job Description

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager / Retail Manager to join the team of this ambitious and successful retailer at Regional Commercial Manager level. You will play a pivotal role, acting as the key link between the Commercial and Operations teams. Working across an array of stores within your region, you will work in partnership with in-store management to ensure that all sales targets are achieved and exceeded through the delivery of effective store planning, Merchandising and customer service. You will work to engage store staff at all levels, presenting them with your findings on the current market, competitors' sales and activity, along with weekly updates regarding in-house sales and successes. You will also address any trading issues which may affect sales, and look to form a resolution to these which is both time and cost effective. This is a home based position; however you must have flexibility to travel within your region. As Commercial Manager, your key duties will include: * Analysing and monitoring regional sales at store level, in order to make recommendations and devise solutions to drive and maximise sales * Influencing colleagues to ensure product is available in-store in the most effective and attractive manner, while abiding by the company's layout policies * Trialling new techniques and promotions; working strategically to identify new markets, sales opportunities and ways of reaching out to the customer * Working closely with the Marketing and Head Office teams to ensure that all seasonal promotions are being conducted correctly in store, with seasonal items at the forefront of all relevant displays * Tracking your competitors continuously, ensuring you provide a better product and service to the customer, taking inspiration from the market and consequently driving innovation through the team To be successful you should have: * Experience at Management level, within a Retail Operations position * Confidence speaking to colleagues at all levels, presenting your findings and influencing them to make commercial and beneficial decisions * An entrepreneurial spirit, along with a strong commercial mind with an in-depth knowledge of the retail market * A degree, or equivalent, within a relevant field - such as Business, Retail or Analytics * The ability to work both independently as well as in partnership with both Head Office and In-Store teams * A passion for product and retail and the ability to see things from both a creative and strategic perspective As Regional Commercial Manager you will receive a competitive package along with long term career prospects and the opportunity to progress & develop within the business, working at a senior level.
