Job Description

This leading business is looking for a Database Manger to create, manage and maintain a range of business critical access databases with the aim of generating management information to drive and support business performance and assist in the validation of industry data, coding and pricing. To utilise this data in the maintenance of the stock management system in relation to business as usual and its integration with other core business systems and projects. Responsibilities: * Produce, manage and maintain a succession of product databases relating to monthly volumes, pricing, budgets, products and associated business projects * Utilise these databases to support the ongoing maintenance and validation of core product data within existing business systems * Investigate opportunities for greater integration between core business systems and the transition to more efficient modes of data maintenance * Responsible for the production of regular and ad hoc management information and reporting which can drive performance and measure core KPIs for the wider business * Provision of industry data cross functionally that can support key business projects within Business Development, Finance, Retail Operations and Logistics * Regular validation of internal and external data sources to ensure business confidence within our data and the MI we are producing * Analysis of complex and conflicting data to support wider project and facilitate the onward cascade of orders to multiple suppliers * Ability to support internal and external audit requirements relating to the maintenance of the systems and the associated processes that facilitate this Key Experience * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft Access * Detailed working knowledge of product management systems and their interaction * Experience of the management and maintenance of core business databases * Proven track record of producing business critical management information which has been used to drive performance * Excellent communication and analysis skills * Good understanding of the wider co-operative business and its core projects * Ability to keep processes and procedures under control and make suggestions for improvement when not working * Experience of the creation and management of databases * Line Management experience
