Job Description

Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer, searching for a Category Demand Planner to work closely within the supply chain, adding value and subsequently improving performance for this multinational company. The Category Demand Planner will be responsible for the total category volume forecast for a significant portion of the business. The main responsibilities of the role will include: * Maintain a robust and realistic total volume forecast for a category of products, documenting key opportunities, risks and assumptions within the forecast to represent the latest view. * Create the Consolidated Unconstrained Demand Plan * Highlight gaps in the demand plan * Support the development of long term capacity plans * Foresee and raise awareness, where necessary, of future stocking issues. * Implement customisation on certain stock allocations * Capture and understand significant forecast changes * Work with analytical models, using current and historical patterns * Maintain planning data and parameters. * Operate in the company’s best interest looking at the long and short term impacts. * Form an integral part of NPD teams, to create, maintain and evaluate volume forecasts * Ensure the phasing in and out of new product planning runs smoothly. * Report & analyse Key Performance Indicators, implementing continuous improvement activities around these. * Establish and maintain strong relationships and forecasting processes with all stakeholders, both internal and external. * Conduct regular reviews of base rates and track impact of significant specific events such as npd * Lead category review of volume variances, working with Customer Replenishment Analysts to formally root cause major variances and agree preventive actions. Successful candidates, will have outstanding team-working ability and excellent analytical skills with the ability to assimilate large amounts of data. They will be able to articulate results and ideas in a concise manner to both internal colleagues and external clients. They will have the capacity to deliver outstanding consulting work while being focused on more than one project at a time. You will need a strong academic background for this Category Demand Planner role, and experience working in a demand planning remit. Excellent IT Skills especially in Excel and knowledge of SAP or a similar planning system are necessities.
