Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a highly successful and expanding UK retailer for an experienced Product Developer to join their non-fashion team. Working on the own brand design department you will be responsible for sourcing and product development - covering a number of outdoor product ranges. Your role will require you to: * Provide detailed testing and technical information to ensure proto types are developed to brief and to target costs. * Work to a critical path, ensuring dates are met and product is developed and delivered on time and to brief. * Work closely with the buying team to ensure range requirements are fully understood and briefed correctly to supplier. * Negotiate prices, suggest initial costings, check samples from factories and liaise with suppliers. * Far East travel to work with suppliers on proto types and over see bulk production. To be considered: * Candidates must have product development or import merchandising experience within outdoor related or hardgoods products. * You will have already travelled to the Far East. * As you will be the centre point of information for designers and buyers -excellent communication skills is essential. * You must have a full understanding of testing requirements and QA standards for UK and Europe.
