Job Description

Our client a global retailer provider within the travel industry is seeking a project manager to join the organisation on a permanent basis, you will be required to design, develop and implement a full life cycle to integrate new business. You will be responsible for the strategy, ensuring systems, processes and operational procedures are standardised and put in place. In this position you will lead from the front, drive and coordinate the technical, operational, commercial, financial and back office aspects of the project to fulfil business improvement and profitability targets. Key Responsibilities * Create and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. * Plan and execute project activities which can take between 3 - 6 months and often involve overseas customers and suppliers so flexibility to travel is essential. * Identify resource requirements and assign responsibilities. * Chair regular meetings with colleagues, suppliers and customers. * Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project. * Proactively assess and manage project risks and issues. * Provide regular updates and progress reports. Ensure information flow is consistent, accurate and timely. * Maintain cost control for project expenditure and agree with finance. * Collate feedback and review at the end of all projects. * Encourage innovation and challenge existing processes where applicable. The ideal candidate will be: * Resourceful, proactive and innovative individual with experience as a project manager * Ability to plan, organise and execute workloads efficiently, whilst working to strict deadlines. * Strong ability to problem-solve under pressure and meet new challenges. * Demonstrate sound judgment and skill in the decision making process. * Ability to manage and motivate individuals and a team as well as 3rd parties. * Ability and readiness to employ a hands-on approach to execution of project tasks or taking of corrective action to avoid plan slippage. * Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders within a retail or FMCG environment * Ability to rapidly change management style to accommodate new concepts, technologies, industries, and cultures. * Ability to manage growth, performance and subsequent organisational change in an entrepreneurial manner. * Able to challenge established practices and deliver creative solutions to complex business problems. * PRINCE 2 is highly advantageous.
