WHSmith has opened three new flagship stores at Heathrow Airport, marking the latest phase in its long-running partnership with the UK’s biggest travel hub.
The new sites, located across terminals 3, 4 and 5, bring together food and drink, health and beauty, technology accessories and pharmacy services in a single format.
The openings come as WHSmith looks to strengthen its position in travel retail, with the Heathrow stores designed to meet demand from time-pressed passengers seeking a broader mix of essentials in one place.
A key part of the new format is an expanded wellbeing offer, including WHSmith’s own-brand health and beauty range Roame, alongside hot food, coffee-to-go and in-store pharmacy services operated with Well Pharmacy.

WHSmith said the Terminal 5 site is its most advanced flagship to date and is intended to showcase the full breadth of its travel essentials strategy.
The retailer described the investment as a significant step in its 80-year relationship with Heathrow, where it has traded since 1946.
WHSmith UK chief executive Andrew Harrison said: “These openings represent a major reinvestment in the UK’s largest airport and showcase our most advanced stores to date.
“Our new stores bring together everything in one place, from health and beauty and pharmacy services to food, tech and travel essentials, helping to make every customer’s journey better.”
Heathrow retail director Fraser Brown said the openings reflected the continued evolution of the airport’s retail proposition and its longstanding relationship with WHSmith.
