Havaianas has unveiled a new collection with Brooklyn-based creative label KidSuper, which brings together Brazilian football culture, art and fashion.
The new collection, which is made up of four designs, follows the second chapter of the pairs partnership in Brazil. The two firms had teamed up to repair an old public football court in São Paulo, which featured KidSuper founder and artist Colm Dillane’s work .
The court was later used in the campaign for the collection.
Dillane shares a connection with the country having lived their previously and spent time at Esporte Clube Vitória, in Bahia.
He said: “Havaianas is such a Brazilian icon, and for me that made it a really exciting canvas to play with. We took this shared love of football and brought it into the KidSuper world through color, art and a little bit of the unexpected.
“The result feels like both brands, which is always what you want from a collaboration”.
The hero design, Havaianas Top Turf Pitch, was unveiled at the Super’s FW26 runway show during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
The collection also features three printed styles with artwork by Dillane. All four designs have co-branded detailing and come in collectible packaging with a custom card for personalisattion and a KidSuper branded gym bag.
The collection will launch globally in Havaianas stores on September 8.
