Dixons disposes of Equanet

News

Electricals retail group Dixons Retail has today announced that it is to dispose of B2B IT firm Equanet as it continues to refocus its operations.

Entering into an agreement with IT solutions and service provider Kelway, the group will also dispose of its Bury-based IT reseller activities along with the Equanet brand name.

Such a move follows the retailer‘s decision to close all of its Pixmania stores and exit the brand‘s online markets as part of a broader turnaround strategy.

Sebastian James, CEO of Dixons Retail, said of the decision: “The agreement to dispose of Equanet demonstrates further progress in refocusing our business on leadership positions in key markets and territories whilst at the same time, giving Equanet the opportunity to flourish in the specialist B2B market under the ownership of Kelway.”
