The Cotswold Company’s new owner will take “business to the next level”

The Cotswold Company has announced it has been bought by private equity company True Capital.

True Capital has promised its recent acquisition will see the furniture retailer expand its product and category ranges and expand its outlet reach nationwide.

Furthermore, it has stated that founder of the US furniture giant Crate & Barrel Gordon Segal, who is a key investor in True Capital, will play an active role in developing The Cotswold Company, especially in real estate and supply chain areas.

“In True Capital we have found a partner to take our business to the next level, whilst allowing us to adopt new technologies that will benefit our customers’ experiences,” the company’s chief executive Kevin Johnson said.

The oak furniture specialist now turns over £35 million a year and deals with over 100,000 orders since its inception in 1996. The online furniture market has continued to boom in recent years, growing by double digits and being expected to grow another 13 per cent by 2020.
