Ted Baker Design Group (TDG), which is run by PDS Group, is planning to axe a third of its team, putting around 30 jobs at risk.

The job cuts are understood to be located at the fashion brand’s current London head office in Cleveland Street, Drapers reported.

It comes as Ted Baker, which was placed into administration in March, is closing all of its UK stores, concessions and website in the coming week.

While TDG is no part of the administration process, its believed to be in response to the reduced workload on product design and sourcing.

PDS, who is the core licensee and operating partner for Ted Baker, founded TDG – the brand’s global hub for design and innovation – in April 2023.

Authentic Brands, the US group behind brands including David Beckham, Reebok, and Hunter, owns Ted Baker’s intellectual property and has been hunting for a new partner to run the brand’s retail and online business in the UK and Europe.

Next and Frasers had been in the running but The Sun reports that Frasers has pulled out of talks.
