Upmarket supermarket Waitrose has announced that Pippa Middleton is to appear as a new columnist for its monthly magazine.

First appearing in the April issue of the magazine, which is on sale from March 28th 2013, Middleton‘s column will contain “casual dining ideas” and recipes.

The news comes just four months after Middleton‘s debut book, ‘Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities For Families and Friends‘ was panned by critics though the Duchess of Cambridge‘s sister expressed excitement about the upcoming project.

“I‘m delighted to be writing for Waitrose Kitchen, a magazine that‘s always been a source of inspiration to me, for its extensive spectrum of food and beautiful style,” Middleton commented.

“My column, ‘Pippa‘s Friday Night Feasts‘ will be an exciting opportunity to share my own passion and enthusiasm for food and entertaining and I can‘t wait to get started.”

Published by John Brown Media, Waitrose Kitchen is available in stores and has 1.4 million readers monthly.

Last November, competitor Tesco‘s in-house magazine was revealed as the most widely read publication in the country and it is hoped that the edition of a celebrity columnist will boost Waitrose‘s sales of its offering.

William Sitwell, Editor of Waitrose Kitchen, said: “Pippa will be an excellent contributor to the magazine, bringing with her a wealth of experience of entertaining, gained in part from working at her family‘s party business.

“Readers will love her relaxed and easy entertaining ideas which will help with the preparation for all sorts of occasions.”
