Fashion retailer Forever 21 is to open its sixth UK store in shopping centre Lakeside tomorrow, bring an end to a major asset management scheme to create major new flagships at the centre, it has been announced today.

Covering three floors, the 28,600 sq ft store was previously occupied by Topshop and Topman prior to their relocation to a new top 10 flagship within the centre last year, though an additional two levels have been created.

The store will be the retailer‘s second in the Capital Shopping Centre‘s (CSC) portfolio, strengthening its position in the market as it sits alongside the likes of Apple, H&M and O2.

Linda Chang, Global Marketing Director at Forever 21, said of the opening: “Forever 21 is always looking for unique retail spaces to complement the brand.

“We are excited to open a store at Lakeside shopping centre where we will be able to offer all of the latest trends to Lakeside‘s most fashionable shoppers in more than 28,600 square feet of retail space.”

In addition to this upcoming opening, Lakeside also recently welcomed optical retailer Specsavers, which opened its first regional shopping centre store last month while footwear specialist Schuh opened its first Schuh Kids format in October.

Discussing the completion of the management initiative, Jonathan Ainsley, Asset Management Director for CSC, said: “The active asset management project that has culminated in the arrival of Forever 21 at Lakeside has been a major initiative that illustrates our desire to always create the right space in the right place for our retailers.

“The enhancement of the fashion offer within Lakeside and the continued arrival of new retailers shows their eagerness for a flagship presence within Lakeside to take advantage of our 26 million a year annual footfall.”
