Home furnishings retailer Cath Kidston has announced a strong surge in sales in its full year results as it continued its expansion into the Asian market.

UK sales were up 21 per cent as the retailer opened eight UK stores but it was in the international market that its best results came to fruition.

The store, which incorporates classic British 1930‘s design in its products, announced that international retail sales increased by 53 per cent and group sales exceeded £100m for the first time. The brands number of overseas stores also increased by 25 to 60 this year.

Cath Kidston has a portfolio across the UK, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Thailand and has cleared all of its bank debt.

Commenting on the results, Kenny Wilson, CEO of Cath Kidston, said that the company will ‘look to the future with confidence‘ and continue to grow globally. He added: “This has been another year of strong growth for the Cath Kidston brand in all of our territories, coupled with significant investment in people and infrastructure to support future growth.”

The company announced they will open two flagship stores in London and Shanghai later this year.
