Samsung continues to define itself as serious competition for Apple with the opening of its first UK ‘experience‘ stores in nine locations across the country.

The stores, located in Bradford, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle, follow the recent successful launch of 19 stores across Europe, with extra openings planned, and comes after Samsung announced disappointing profits in January, -11 per cent on the previous three months.

The stores, which will allow customers to adopt a ‘try before you buy‘ stance, will stock the full range of Samsung products, utilising the expertise of Carphone Warehouse staff.

The electronics retailer will be looking to use the new stores to encourage sales of the S5 smartphone and Galaxy Note 4, due to be released in the upcoming months.

Andrew Harrison, CEO of Carphone Warehouse expressed his excitement at the combination of the company‘s “retailing expertise and systems with one of the world‘s biggest brands.”

Carphone Warehouse‘s recent tie up with Samsung follows a planned merger with electrically retailer Dixons, which will see customers being able to access specialist advice as home appliances become more technical.
