Specialist outdoor equipment retailer Snow+Rock are amongst a host of retailers to join product search finder app Udozi.

Shoppers use the start-up app to check stock availability, shop contact details, locations and opening times when not in-store.

The app, which mainly supports independent retailers on Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street is designed to drive footfall and reduce in-store showrooming.

It is used by around 170 independent and national retailers including Toys R Us and Cycle Surgery. Udozi generates its revenue from retailers by acting as a listing service and charges for a yearly subscription while the app is free for users.

Matthew Martin, online traffic manager at Snow+Rock Group said “We pride ourselves on offering the highest standards of customer service across all of our stores, and part of this is helping make it easier for consumers to find what they want. In this rapidly changing marketplace, we are constantly evaluating everything that we do to ensure that we are offering consumers the best service possible.”

Meanwhile, former CEO of Kiddicare and Morrisons‘ head of digital development Simon Harrow has joined start-up Haatch as a digital investor. Harrow will seek out digital ventures looking for support and upfront capital investment.
